Tripura™

Building an e-commerce presence doesn’t necessarily mean an IPO, launch parties, and extensive platform evaluations. Finally, your organization can open a profitable distribution channel for your product quickly, and without a huge investment. The TRIPURA™ e-commerce platform allows you to build and launch an e-commerce shop within a matter of days.

TRIPURA™ consists of a number of layers, each interacting with the next in a controlled and logical manner:

The Database Layer stores:

  • Content taxonomy
  • Product catalog data including product descriptions, associated image paths, cross sales, and discount plans
  • Promotions data including promotion start and end dates, and display pages.
  • Order and transactional data including shipping/billing address, credit card data, user name, and ordered items
  • Shipping and handling matrix

The Business Logic Layer facilitates all essential processes on the web site including:

  • Display of static content HTML pages
  • Display of product catalog
  • Display of promotional campaigns
  • Order capture and processing
  • Post-order processing including shipping and handling
  • Reporting including sales reports, and traffic reports

The Security Layer:

  • TRIPURA™ maintains internal access control lists (ACLs) to establish access permissions for the various administrative modules. Access control lists are used to assign authority within the organization based on roles and responsibilities assumed by the administrative user
  • The security layer establishes end-user authentication processes, which validate user credentials. Stored user profile data includes authentication credentials, payment details, addresses, and e-mail addresses

Site Builder Layer

  • Enables creation of user interface templates
  • Enables binding of the application code to render the HTML pages

 

The following TRIPURA™ modules are available:


Products
  • TRIPURA™ supports extensive product taxonomy. It allows for the creation of a multi-layered product hierarchy spanning multiple categories and multiple sub-categories. The support for such an extensive functionality enables you to sell products in the form, combination, and format that you desire. The Product module allows you to add products to a single category. It also enables you to assign a product to multiple categories.
  • Both fixed and customizable attributes can be created for each product. The fixed attributes include standard fields such as name, SKU, list price, weight range, description, image path etc.
  • The customizable attributes allow the user to tailor descriptors to the requ irements of the product. For example, your organization may maintain a catalog of product categories (for instance videos, books, electronic goods, games, memorabilia etc.) For each of these categories, there might exist separate product attributes (e.g. playback format might be an attribute for a Video but will not be applicable to books.) Further, you may decide to use different graphical templates for different categories.
  • It is easy to set up Categories and their attributes. The Category Tree view shows the primary categories and the products under each one. These primary categories can indicate any type of classification but are usually used to distinguish the major divisions or departments that comprise the enterprise. New categories can always be entered in the Category manual and their attributes set using the Attribute Designer.


Orders/Customer

  • This module contains search facilities for orders and customers. It is easy to locate an order or a customer.
  • Review the data online or click on the Print button to obtain a hard copy. Other relevant data, such as carrier, tracking number, etc. can also be added. You can choose to display the tracking number on the web page for the order so that the customer can track the delivery status of the product.
  • Three tab folders are available to enter the credit card, shipping address, and billing address of the customer.


Category management

  • This module allows you to add, delete or edit product categories. You can also add subcategories within a category if required.


Attribute Designer

  • The Attribute Designer module is where one can create, change or delete an association between a product and a set of predefined attributes. Initially the user must add the products and then categorize them and decide which attributes are required for each category.


Shipping Module

The shipping module contains all the information required for shipping a purchase to a customer:

  • Shipping method
  • Weight class (for physical products)
  • Cost of the shipping


Site Builder

  • To customize and fine-tune a template, a developer can easily add new SQL and HTML code to a template.


Module Manager

  • One can manage the application modules and security permissions. This is the place where newly developed plug-ins can be added, and security settings determined.


Email Templates

  • Create email templates such as Order Confirmation emails. New templates can be added and the Email Subject and Email Body can be written using macros and then saved.


Advanced

  • This module allows an Administrator to add, change or delete membership types and to specify various global settings.


Database Extensions

  • The user can add extension tables to the database.
